Yesterday I was at Lake Vesuivius Park in Lawrence County. I was right next
to where a stream comes out of the backside of the dam at the end of the
lake. I heard a warbler- when I found it, I had a hard time identifying it
because it was grey outside. The bird was not colorful, but brown with eye
stripe and streaked breast. I listened to its song over and over agian and
then went abck to 3 different songbird CDs I have plus my bird books.

OK- here's the question. It was one of these two- Louisiana Waterthrush or
Northern Waterthrush. The area maps in the bird guides appear to indicate
that this is just outside the territory for the Northern, so I'm 80% sure it
was the Louisiana. The only thing is is that, in my mind, the song sounded
more like the Northern, but I know songs vary and I am no expert.  So can
anybody categorically rule out for me that it WAS NOT the Northern?

PS- Sometimews I wish I was closer to Lake Erie as it seems you guys have
all the waterfowl and more!
