arrived @ 2:30 today to VERY STRONG, cold western and
slightly northern winds and 43*
 
Pulling up near NE corner near boat launch the
first bird seen was again an 
Eared Grebe
also seen between the launch and throughout
the bay were the following
3 Horned Grebes (one was actually IN the launch seeking shelter)
60+ Red-Breasted Mergansers
8 DC Cormorants
15 Canada Geese
75+ Gulls
     1 Lesser Black-backed gull
     15 Herring gulls
     60+ Black'billed gulls
8 Mallards
2 Turkey Vultures (flying over Dike 14)
 
2:25 to west of ICYC
2 Song Sparrows along YC fence
20+ Robins
the docks held less gulls than in the past maybe 40
     5 Herring
     the rest Ring-billed
     the fly over gulls were many and the ratios were the same,
           the numbers near 75 (mostly RB BUT located 
          one Bonaparte)
5 Double-crested Cormorants were fishing in the area
11 RBMs were also fishing
 
IN the farthest north and west corner of ICYC (only visible
if you walked a way up the breakwall eastward) were 
 
14 Horned Grebes - in the "calmest water to be found today
 
 
Out north of the breakwall the winds were EXTREMELY
strong and the waves were high and mighty as well
the following birds were seen 
 
100 gull IN the water
20-ish RBMs
10-ish DCC
 
as i was heading back to the car a few long lines of DCCs
started flying westward
3 were noted
 - one had 11
 - another had 14
 - the last had 16
