Outstanding birding at River Styx this morning! There were good numbers and
good variety of birds. The weather was finally much improved with warmer
temps and peek-a-boo sunshine. The wildflowers were also in their prime.
I had 16 warblers and 12 FOY birds.
Highlights:
2 green herons - my First of Year
great crested flycatcher FOY
yellow throated vireo FOY
red eyed vireo
warbling vireo
tree, barn and n. roughwing swallows
e. phoebe
house wren
carolina wren
wood thrush
numerous catbirds
scarlet tanager, multiple m+f
rose breasted grosbeak, multiple m+f
many baltimore orioles
indigo bunting FOY
RT hummingbird FOY
downy, flicker, red bellied and pileated (heard) woodpeckers

blue winged
tennessee FOY
nashville FOY
n. parula
yellow
chestnut sided FOY
magnolia FOY
black throated blue
black throated green
