Today, at 2 pm, except for vocal wood thrushes, I did not see or hear much at Sharon Woods until I got near to the end of the nature trail --on the southern entrance...near bathrooms. About 100 yards back into the trail where it bends at 90 degrees and has a bench--there was a fair amount of activity--but I was pre-occupied with a bird that I could not identify at all. It acted like a warbler. It was up high.... and to almost eye-level. It was largely brownish on top, with only the slightest hint of a wingbar.... It had a slight eyestripe, slightly lighter in color over the stripe--but overall kind of brownish.

On the breast was streaking....over a yellow--buff kind of color just on the breast that then became white. Some streaking was on the sides of the white but then all white on the tummy (not a technical term) and undertail coverts. The tail underside was dark--just a hint of white crossing the tail but basically all gray.

I saw this bird from all angles. No yellow-rump. Could not find a picture that looked anything like this bird. Any ideas?

Mercifully, an unmistable yellow-billed cuckoo flew from tree to tree until out of sight. Plus got a good look at a blackpoll, nashville, yellow-rumped, heard a yellow warbler.....indigo bunting, female red-breasted grosbeak, baltimore oriole. But what was the mystery bird?
