Exciting news from the Main Park--a pair of red-headed woodpeckers have
been observed west of the main road as you drive through the park.

The bald eagles' nest on River Rd. appears to be  abandoned.  Even though
the eagles had been sitting on the nest for at  least 5 weeks, there appears
to be no activity for the past week.

Other sightings:
    immature bald eagles - 2
    hooded warbler
    yellow-throated warbler
    yellow-throated vireo
    red-eyed vireo
    warbling vireo
    northern parula
    baltimore orioles
    eastern wood pewee
    eastern phoebe
    acadian flycatcher
    yellow warbler
    common yellowthroat
    indigo buntings
    pileated woodpecker
    red-bellied woodpecker
    downy woodpecker
    white-crowned, white-throated, song, field, and  chipping sparrows
    spotted sandpipers - 3
    solitary sandpipers - 3
    great egrets - 3
    great blue herons - highest count is  63
    belted kingfisher
    wood duck
    canada geese
    mallards
    blue-winged teal
    green-winged teal
    red-tailed hawk
    coopers hawk
    turkey vultures
    chimney swifts
    barn, tree, and bank swallows
    AMOTUS (And Most of the Usual  Stuff)
