A female common merganser with four nearly full-grown young was seen yesterday at Lake Metroparks' Hidden Valley Park in Madison Township. They were seen along the Grand River at the west end of the park. Also of note at the same park was a male black-throated blue warbler carrying food. It was observed twice heading in the same direction with a mouth full of bugs. I've had them before at this park in the summer. John Pogacnik
