Now that you mention it I heard one in my yard during migration but don't
have my usual summer resident.

Subject: [Ohio-birds] House wrens

I heard from a fellow who lives in NW Columbus, and for years has
relished the presence of house wrens, that for the first time there are
none in his area. I told him birds don't live forever, but he insisted
he was missing more than a few pairs. I really haven't noticed a dearth
of house wrens, but I promised to find out if others have. He knows we
weren't talking about Carolina wrens. Has anyone else with years of
experience missed hearing or seeing house wrens this summer? I'll let
him know what you may have to say. No need to respond to the list.
Thanks,
Bill Whan
Cols
