A couple of weeks ago someone was asking about an eBird report for a Loggershrike near the Dayton airport.
I did a slow drive down the road but no Shrike jumped in front of my binoculars.

While going down Old Springfield road around on the north side of the airport I pulled over to look around where there is a
tiny creek coming out from under the airport fence.

Probing in a little patch of mud just in the water I saw (what I took to be) a Woodcock. I walked back to my car for my Peterson's
and upon looking at it thought no maybe it was a Common Snipe. I walked back but it was gone.

Mary, Dayton area
