Thank you Bill for the notification of the latest AOU changes: including the
re-elevation of our "Moorhen" to a full species again. I guess what goes
around comes around. Besides the word "Gallinule" is much more mellifluous
(one of the reasons for the change e.g. its "song" is diffferent from the
Old World species). Also, I'm glad that they made it "Common Gallinule" (as
much as I find the word not very original or descriptive). However it is
more descriptive than the old name of "Florida Gallinule".

As to the Parulid changes: It will be considered a situation similar to an
earlier dis*Aster* [sic Disaster for the botanically challenged when they
realized that the genus *Aster *was dissed or sunk].
In any case, get ready for a flood of new checklists and field guide
updates. Birders: 0, Publishers:1
