i have been hoping for this day for quite
a while. i have been watching the Toms
and Hens courting/playing/mating since
mid-May and FINALLY the first batch of
poults were spotted today!!

one mom and 10 poults walked through my
backyard this morning in Gates Mills.
i literally live at the confluence of
Cuyahoga/Geauga/Lake Counties -
in past years the poults were weeks
earlier. maybe the weather, coyotes
or other factors delayed their hatchings.
