The impoundment was still a busy place last evening.

I walked around the marsh sharing observations with Fred Dinkelbach.

The Avocet was affording great looks in the pool adjacent to the parking lot.
Lot's of peeps, a few Dunlin, and the likely Baird's were also seen in and
around the
same area. We did not get good looks at the Baird's, but it did stay to itself
in the high and dry

areas, at times disappearing in the grass.

A walk around to the section on the north sides yielded some good birds as well.
Highlights were

2 gorgeous Stilt SP's and a couple of Short-billed Dowitchers, plus more peeps.
Also, swallows of all kinds were seen

throughout the area.

See you on the trails,

Chris Pierce
