Blendon Woods is located in the northeast corner of Columbus off
of I 270 & Rte 161. Take the Little Turtle Way exit. Recently we have
lowered the water level at Thoreau Lake. This was done to provide
habitat for shorebirds. We also have remolded our area outside the
Nature Center Bird Viewing area. We now have a nice stream outside the
window. Birds are coming to drink & take a bath. Below is a list of some
of the birds seen the last couple of days.

Hairy Woodpecker
W Turkeys-many-males were fighting to establish a pecking
order. Two males faced off- they jumped 2 feet of the ground,- clasped
feet together,- then landed. One of the males ran away from the fight!!
