i hit gordon park for the first time
in a long time this afternoon (school
is starting again!)
from 4:45 - 5:30 on a walk out the
inner harbor breakwall i saw the following -
(looking out to open water and toward the shore
as well)
2 Great Crested Cormorants
25+ Canada Geese
20+ Northern Rough-winged Swallows
4 Yellow Warblers
10+ Eastern Kingbirds
2 Song Sparrows
30+ European Starlings
30+ Ring-billed Gulls
1 Baltimore Oriole
1 American Robin
1 Northern Mockingbird
in the grassy area between the launch and
Dike 14 - 5:30-5:45
20+ Northern Rough-winged Swallows
10+ American Robins
20+ Erropean Starlings
5-ish Eastern Kingbirds were tagging
along with a group of starlings and as
the starlings were flitting and flying
around the Kingbirds were following, bug-catching
what the starlings were kicking up, quite
interesting to observe
thinking this will be the first of many after school
ventures to Gordon and then also
Wildwood/Euclid Beach to be in the mix!
