A late day circuit, 3:30 to 5:30 pm, of the auto tour yielded the following
shorebirds: Greater Yellolegs 1, Lesser Yellowlegs 3, Short-billed Dowitcher
12, Long-billed Dowitcher at least 1 by call, Pectoral Sandpiper 1,
Semipalmated Sandpiper 6, Least Sandpiper 10, Golden Plover 2, Semipalmated
Plover 6, many Killdeer and Wilson's Snipe, 5.  The Golden Plover came in to
the northwest corner of the banding area at about 4:45 and flew off shortly
after 5:00.  The snipe started showing up after 5:00.  At Metzger Marsh, one
Black Tern from the levee and four Bald Eagles soaring (late).  At Crane
Creek on the lake, one Bonaparte s Gull with almost intact black hood with
only a little white behind bill.
