Here's news on an ongoing story of the migration of a whimbrel carrying
a radio transmitter http://wildlifetracking.org/index.shtml?tag_id=84206
More information is in the links to newspaper stories therein.
Another whimbrel in the same study that got started earlier was caught
in a tropical storm on the way south; on one side its progress was
slowed to 9 mph, but on the other its speed was 90 mph!
