Saturday around 4 pm, as I was leaving Cedars on Route 13, I spotted two osprey circling over a private "lake" (created by gravel pit), just north of the northernmost lake at T J Evans Park. They were fairly low. I pulled into the park, but was not able to relocate them.

I've seen osprey in Licking Co. before, but never over the North Fork of the Licking River (adjacent to T J Evans Park) or anywhere in the north end of Newark. They have always been east of Newark, along Route 16 and the larger Licking River, or at Black Hand Gorge.

You never know what you might see this time of year!
