A pair of Blue Grosbeaks has re-appeared at Scioto Audubon MetroPark, in roughly the same area as the suspected nesters from last year. Look for them perched on stalks around the second pond to the north of the Grange Nature Center (the one beyond the pond with the boardwalk). The male was singing this morning, but the female was silent.

Other birds in the vicinity were a Kestrel, a Mockingbird, a few Indigo Buntings, and lots of Goldfinches. Along the Scioto bikepath were a scattering of migrants, including 5 Wood Pewees, 1 Acadian Flycatcher, 3-4 Gnatcatchers, 1 Magnolia Warbler, 1 Black-thr.Green Warbler, and 2-3 Baltimore Orioles.

I also stopped at Marble Cliff bikepath and Griggs dam area later in the morning, and had more migrants. The list included 2 Flycatcher species (Pewee, Phoebe), 2 Vireo species (Warbling, Red-eyed), 6 warblers: Black& White (MCB), Magnolia, Black-thr.Blue, Yellow (a late juvenile at Griggs), Blackburnian, and N.Waterthrush (MCB), plus Baltimore Orioles
