birding community to our Saturday night banquet with special guest speaker
Norman Smith from the Massachusetts Audubon Society & Blue Hills Trailside
Museum and Norman Smith Environmental Education Center in Milton,
Massachusetts.

Norman has studied birds of prey for over 35 years, including rehabilitating
the injured and successfully fostering over 1,000 orphaned hawk and owl
chicks into adoptive nests. His ongoing long-term projects include trapping
and banding migrating hawks and owls in the Blue Hills Reservation, banding
nestling hawks and owls, and doing research on snowy owls and other raptors

Subject: Revised FWS Draft Wind Energy Guidelines Available



Dear Interested Parties:

The Service has released a revised version of the Draft Land-Based Wind
Energy Guidelines dated September 13, 2011. This revision incorporates
comments received from the public and the Wind Turbine Guidelines Advisory
Committee. The Service will accept comments on this revised draft until
September 23, 2011.

The revised draft, a memo describing the revisions, and a draft agenda for
the September 20-21, 2011, Wind Turbine Guidelines Advisory Committee
meeting are all available at: www.fws.gov/windenergy.
