There were 11 shorebird & 15 warbler sp. at the impoundment, this morning.  Shorebird highlights included Black-bellied Plover (3), White-rumped Sandpiper, & Long-billed Dowitcher (juv.).  There was a nice warbler movement last night along the immediate lakefront, and the woodlot was hopping with fresh arrivals, including parula, Black-throated Blue and Blackpoll Warblers in full song!

At Lakeview Park in Lorain a massive Common Tern movement occurred from 9:00-9:30 this morning, with easily 1000 birds passing in the time frame.  The coolest part about this movement was that it started far offshore with scattered flocks, when all of a sudden the birds began concentrating and moving straight south at my position on the beach.  Soon there was a massive tern flock swirling just offshore which I estimated at 800 birds at one point...truly a WOW moment!

Construction will be occuring at Lorain again tomorrow, and birders will most likely be asked to leave the property.

Good birding -
