Presently, it is 12:30PM Sunday afternnoon. An adult Laughing Gull in winter plumage was found by Bob Krajeski a short time ago; disappeared, and was refound by Jerry Talkington a few minutes later. It is still here. A nice group of about ten birders are here. No sign of the Black-headed Gull seen yesterday and photographed by Jerry. Shorebirds are almost non-existant, with only 1 Sanderling, 1 Greater Yellowlegs and 5 Sem-palmated Plover. Other birds of note were: a singing Warbling Vireo, 5 Black-crowned Night-Heron, 3 Northern Shovelers, 2 Pied-billed Grebes, 7 Blue-winged Teal, 1 Ruby-throated Hummingbird, and there was a report from earlier of 100+ Turkey Vultures. Something totally new and unusual for "The Sandspit" is: presently there are 10 non-birder Amish women swimming in the bay with their clothes on. How unreal is that! Bob and Denise Lane / Mahoning County
