I was able to stop at Lorain a couple times today. I stopped around 11:00
and again around 4:30. There were a lot of shorebirds at 11:00. They were
coming and going and were moving around a lot. It was difficult to get a
good peep count as they were moving a lot. This morning the most exciting
birds were 4 avocets, 2 Baird's sandpipers, 1 western sandpiper, 3
buff-breasted sandpipers and a long-billed dowitcher adult.This afternoon
there were a fraction of the birds seen earlier. The avocets and western
sandpiper were the only uncommon birds that hung around. Golden and
black-bellied plovers dropped in just as I was leaving.

Here is a list of what I saw. The E and L after the number signify E- early
(11:00) and L-late (4:30). If it wasn't so hot it would have been a great
day to just sit out there.

Black-bellied plover 2L
American golden plover 1L
Semipalmated plover 23E, 2L
Killdeer 8E, 3L
American avocet 4E,L
Spotted sandpiper 1L
Greater yellowlegs 1L
Lesser yellowlegs 3E, 1L
Semipalmated sandpiper 50+E, 12L
Western sandpaiper 1E, L
Least sandpiper 7E, 2L
Baird's sandpiper 2E
Pectoral sandpiper 4E
Dunlin 1E, L
Stilt sandpiper 1E
Buff-breasted sandpiper 3E
Short-billed dowitcher 11E, 1L
Long-billed dowitcher 1E
