Hi All,

I know many folks are getting excited and geared up for the big birding event up at Lakeside, Ohio in another week.

However, if you're going to be sticking around central Ohio there are a couple of progam/workshop opportunities to consider attending, sponsored by Ohio Nature Education (www.ohionature.org).

On Wednesday, Sept. 14th Jim Beckman of Cheepers! Birding Tours will be presenting "In Search of Harpy Eagles in Panama" at 7:00 p.m.

Come hear about an adventure to see one of the most elusive and most fierce birds-of-prey in Central America. With feet the size of human fists, and talons as big as bear claws, the Harpy Eagle is one of the most respected and feared birds of prey in Central America where they prey on sloths and monkeys. There is a $5 program fee at the door to support Ohio Nature Education.

Additionally, on Saturday, Sept. 17th, Julie Baldwin of Wild Birds Unlimited of Columbus (East Broad St.) will be presenting a Fall/Winter Bird-feeding Workshop at 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.

This workshop will teach you the best ways to set up and maintain a bird-feeding station this fall and winter. You’ll learn about different kinds of feeders, how best to use
them, and how to choose the right kinds of foods for your birds. Julie will have different feeder and feeds on display for you to check out. There is a $10 workshop fee at the door to support Ohio Nature Education.

Both workshop are being held at the William C. Kraner Nature Center at 10380 Fairview Rd., Newark, Ohio 43056 (http://g.co/maps/v9ff).

I hope you'll consider joining us for a great and informative time.

Thanks,

Casey Tucker
