Hi All-

If you are traveling to Marblehead Ohio for the Midwest Birding Symposium, I hope you will consider visiting Danbury Township’s Meadowbrook Marsh.
This wetlands was set aside as a park and nature preserve and is easily accessed from East Bayshore RD, approximately 1 mile east of Englebeck RD.

Keeping in the spirit of giving back to the community, MBS and OOS will donate the proceeds from the Carbon Offset Birding Project (COBP) to purchase more wetlands for this preserve.
Look for the COBP sign at the back of the main auditorium, and we will help you plan your donation: whether you want to off-set your carbon footprint or just make a donation towards preserving excellent birding habitat in an area prime for development.
We have been informed that Bald Eagles previously had a nest in this area, and if a nest is located it will help “our wetland” score higher on grant applications. We would appreciate any bird sightings reported from this location, and hope you help add to the list of species found there.

Please help us protect the environment by conserving this migratory and year-round habitat for birds. Even if you are unable to attend MBS, I sincerely hope you will consider a donation towards this project.

Details and a donation form can be found on the OOS conservation webpage: http://www.ohiobirds.org/conservation/cobp.php
If you would like to mail in your donation form, it can be found at: http://www.ohiobirds.org/conservation/cobp-donate.pdf

Wetlands store the highest amount of carbon per area of any terrestrial ecosystem. But when wetlands are converted for agriculture or development, the stored carbon is largely released as C02 to the atmosphere.*
