I stopped by the lower end of Alum Creek Lake this afternoon and found some early small flocks of migrant waterfowl. Included in the haul were 1 Common Loon, 3-4 Horned Grebes, 8 Black Ducks, 20 Ruddy Ducks, and over 120 Coots in 3 tight flocks. There was also a liberal sprinkling of Bonapartes and Ring-billed Gulls across the lower reservoir, so waterbirds appear to be on the move here.
