The BT gull was refound near the mouth of the Ashtabula R. by Larry R. and viewed by at least a dozen other birders in the early afternoon. This was about 2:00 - 2:30 PM. Then it moved out of sight again nearby. Look for a medium-small "black-backed gull" most like a lesser BB gull at rest. But smaller than a LBBG, size more like ring-billed gull. When it shows it's flight pattern the tail, and the rest of the bird, is quite striking. At both Ashtabula and Conneaut today there were numerous red-breasted mergansers, horned grebes, and Bonaparte's gulls. Conneaut also had: tundra swan, c. goldeneye,common merganser, common loons, great blue herons, peregrine falcon, Am. coots, 1 Am. golden-plover (late), 1 greater yellowlegs, 3 sanderlings, 35 dunlin, great black-backed gull, Am. pipit, and 11 snow buntings. Additional Ashtabula birds included ring-necked ducks, ruddy ducks, and double-crested cormorants. The winds were finally
