I checked Pine L. in SE Mahoning Co. this afternoon. Among the many gulls was a second-winter LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL. Also present: imm. tundra swan, 60 n. shovelers, hooded mergansers, 30 common mergansers, red-breasted mergansers, 80 ruddy ducks, pied-billed grebe, double-crested cormorants, Am. coots, 500+ ring-billed gulls, and herring gulls. Hundreds of Am. crows have been conspicuous in eastern Mahoning Co. lately, as they gather and stream towards the Youngstown-area roost in late afternoon. Craig Holt, Lowellville
