Greetings and happy thanksgiving-
This is a repost in effort to assist Friday Black-tailed Gull seekers. The gull was observed in the early a.m. (see below) and at least two other times during the day but I do not have exact details on locations of the additional sightings. It is recommended that birders start at point c at dawn. Then, depending on sightings, visit point A.
Additional sightings today from Ashtabula include a single CAVE SWALLOW and a BLACK-HEADED GULL both observed from point A by Jerry Talkington. The swallow flew over the museum bluff and the gull was in the harbor following a boat.
Amar Ayyash and a group of Illinois birders just called to confirm that they have seen and photographed, well, the Black-tailed Gull at 8:00 am today (Thurs the 24th) from POINT C (the cement bridge).
