On a tip from Jim Dolan and Carol Bretz, yesterday, Thanksgiving, about a possible Pacific Loon at Pine Lake, we were finally able to follow up this afternoon about 3PM, and found the the bird with about twenty Common Loons. Lighting this time of day is best for checking thru the birds on the lake. There is a wonderful variety of waterfowl species at Pine Lake right now. Some of the highlights were: 250 Hooded Mergansers, 16 Common Mergansers, and the resident adult Bald Eagles. To reach the viewing spot, go to the southwest corner of the lake. Take SR7 to the intersection of Garfield Road, go east, Garfield Road on the east side of the road is Harbor Lights Blvd. Go thru the development entrance station, and follow the road to the bottom of the hill, park and scope from this location. Bob and Denise Lane
