I thought I would update the number of scoters I saw in the water at Sims Park this afternoon from 3 to 4pm.  While I was there the numbers kept changing with 25-26 seen.  It was 44 deg 15mph west winds.  They were just west of the pier.  Some of them were in separate groups but pretty close together.

Scaup (female) 1 in with scoters

Black Scoters 15-6 (3 males- rest females)
Surf Scoters 8 (1 male, 7 females)
White-winged Scoters 3 (looked like all males)

Many Red-breasted Mergansers

Can't remember when I have seen this many male Scoters so close to the pier.
