Greetings,

The morning started out wonderful with the pounding sound of a pair of Pileated Woodpeckers in the valley below our house here in Wakeman, Lorain County. An amazing little red squirrel took exception to their presence and managed to chase them from the base of that particular tree. What a great visual to start the morning with the terrific wing spread of the woodpecker vs the lashing of tail of that little squirrel. Both pileated stayed along the creek for about half an hour before they migrated deeper into the woods.

Happy birding,
Dorothy Dawson-Sheldon
Wakeman
