Greetings all - There were no sightings of the Black-tailed Gull today (Saturday) at Ashtabula Harbor. Gull numbers were significantly lower today than days past, partially because of the break in weather (SW winds, clear atmosphere). Thousands were reduced to low hundreds. It is likely that conditions on the lake were optimal for foraging farther offshore and the sheer numbers dispersed east and west. While it looks semi-dismal for re-finding the gull, Sunday birders would be wise to repeat the recommended searching patterns and sites posted on www.northnw.wordpress.com. Photos of the gull, taken by Dane Adams and Bruce Glick are posted here as well.

Best of luck to searchers.
