The numbers of reports of snowy owls seem to be decidedly up this year
in regions not far north, and there is reason to hope we'll have more
than usual. See for example a map drawn up by Jesse Ellis for the upper

Not that anyone's predicting anything similar, it's fun to read about
Ohio's great invasion of 1930-31: see
