Today after Thanksgiving dinner at my brother's, who has several feeders out his dining room window that go down a hill and towards Greenville Creek, we noticed a yellow bird with brownish hue on back and wings with little extra markings . The breast was yellow and beak light in color.
The closest bird we could find in Sibley's was a female summer tanager. The size was correct.
Shouldn't it be farther south by now?
