Today is Day #7 for the Selasphorus hummingbird. At 8:15am it was captured, banded, measured,
and identified as a female juvenile Rufous Hummingbird (HY) by bander Tim Tolford, with his
assistant Amy, as part of the HBRC/Tri-state Hummingbird Study.
The rufous hummingbird has been at the our residence in the city of Beavercreek (Greene County)
since Saturday November 19th. The beautiful little girl weighed in at 3.45 grams with 0% fat.
We were very fortunate to have had the opportunity to photograph the hummer and gain education of
the process.
