Conditions were chilly and clear at the in the early a.m. yesterday.
Most of the bird movement was from west to east.
Highlights included Black, Surf, and White-winged Scoters, Scaup,
about 40 Common Loons, Hooded Mergansers, and constant streams
of Red-breasted Mergansers ( estimated over 2000 birds). Many of the
highlight birds were spotted
while scanning the groups of RB Mergs.

A couple of groups of Snow Buntings were also seen as well.

A sub adult Bald eagle with a large fish in its talons was seen just as
we were departing.

See you on the trails,

Chris Pierce
