I visited these 2 Columbus parks this morning and found few lingering migrants. Water levels were high at both, so shorebirds and waders were not much in evidence. I checked out several ponds and quarries for waterfowl, but only turned up a few. Landbirds have already started to be dominated by winter residents. Highlights included:

Lesser Scaup - 2 were at Haul Rd quarries
Bufflehead - 2 females at Haul Rd
Pied-billed Grebes - 4 were above the dam in Scioto Audubon
Cormorant - singles at SA and the Alum Drive Quarries
Ring-billed Gulls - not many at 3-Creeks, but Scioto Audubon had 130+
Great Egret - still 2 in the bay at Scioto Audubon, but none in the Borrow Pits at 3-Creeks.
Peregrine - 1 was blasting down the river at SA
Brown Creepers - several at 3-Creeks and at SA
Kinglets - Golden-crowned at several places at 3-Creeks
GrayCatbird - a late bird was at the north end of the Scioto Audubon fields
Sparrows - small flocks of White-crowned were at many locations. Scioto Audubon had a Swamp Sparrow at the boardwalk pond.
Blackbirds - a flock of 150+ grackles flew south past the Confluence area of 3-Creeks, while the Borrow Pits there had 6-8 Redwings
Finches- a flyby Purple Finch at 3-Creeks Confluence area was my FOS

The sunny weather also encouraged a very late flight of butterflies at Scioto Audubon, including Cabbage White, Clouded Sulphurs, Orange Sulphurs, and a Common Buckeye.
