A Merlin was once again present (11-11-11) in its pre-roost tree bordering the local golf course. I first saw a Merlin in this same tree in the fall of 2008, and saw one again in the fall of 2009 and 2010. This is amazing. In past years it has been present off and on for about 6 weeks. I would view the Merlin on my way home from my daily visits to see my Mother at the nearby nursing home. Mother died this spring but I wanted to see if the Merlin had returned so made the trip on Friday. A sad trip had a happy ending.
