Greetings,
Rushed to Meadow Lakes Development, Lorain County near Sandy Ridge Reservation, yesterday to see the short eared owl. Wasn't disappointed at all. Arrived around 4:45 pm and shortly thereafter the owl appeared. Little did I know that I had parked in exactly the perfect location for viewing. Not only did it scour the fields but flew directly to our car and landed on a pole just feet away. Wonderful views!
In addition, spotted an eagle perched not too far from the Sandy Ridge Reservation nest.
The area is developed but doesn't seem to disturb the deer. Counted at least a dozen grazing.
Happy Birding
