In paradise Lost you almost feel as if you are supposed to sympathize
with the devil, which is odd because in most Old English literature
you side with the christian ways of the people. In this work though
you seem to give some favorability towards the devil because the
author, John Milton, makes you feel as if the devil is like a human so
you relate extremely to his ways. In this way you do not look at the
enemy exactly but more as just a sinful person.
