After 2 hours searching for the Black-tailed Gull today I realize I need to
go "to the next level" of study for both gulls and shorebirds. I want to
ask Santa for both a guide to gulls and a guide to shorebirds. The opinions
of some of our Varsity Birders would be most appreciated. Direct response
to me or to the list if you feel others would benefit from your experience
with these guides.

I already use Kaufman and Sibley guides to birds or N. America.
