Late afternoon yesterday, while participating in the Mansfield c.b.c.,
Albert Troyer and I saw a probable pacific loon at clear fork reservoir.
Probable, because of the lighting conditions, distance to the bird and
length of observation. When we left clear fork at 5:30, there were at least
5 common loons and the probable pacific present. This a.m., I spent 2+
hours unsuccessfully looking for the likely pacific loon, finding only 2
common loons.
This probable pacific loon may show up at Columbus reservoirs, Caesar
Creek or other lakes.
Good birding,
John Herman
