I followed directions of the earlier posting for Sandhill Cranes in
Highland County and saw at least 100 in the fields just off Danville Rd.  I
asked one of the locals and she said that they stay at a nearby quarry (off
Roush Rd.) and often will stay all winter if it doesn't get too cold.  I
had no idea that these cranes would winter this far north???

They were beautiful-
