Laura Gooch reminds us that airport folks at Burke now have a policy of
chasing off owls on their property. Some of us remember when staff
members took birders on tours of the property to see snowy owls. But by
and large airports do not welcome birds or any other flying creatures.
See the recent surprising arrival of a snowy owl at the main airport on
the big island in Hawaii, which was promptly shot. There's a thread on
the Twitters list at http://www.birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/TWET.html
