My wife and I also took a drive down to the Grove City area this
morning looking for the Yellow-headed Blackbird, but no large black
bird flocks were found. anywhere near the the landfill. Even the
landfill (viewed from Zuber Rd. across the interstate) had only a
small flock of what looked like all starlings.
There have been some *large* mixed species black bird flocks in this
area over the past few days -- perhaps they roost elsewhere and come
into the area around the SWACO landfill later in the afternoon? Or,
perhaps all this cold weather may have also pushed them farther south?
Good birding,
Paul Hurtado
