With the colder weather I was expecting that Chippewa Lake in Medina County
would be ice covered. Not so! Our walk to the lake shore was rewarded by
seeing a lone Surf Scoter on the lake along with many Canada Geese, Hooded
Mergansers, 4 Common Mergansers, 3 Gadwall, 2 Lesser Scaup, and about 100
Ring-billed Gulls hanging out on the opposite shore. There were even two
Mute Swans still on the lake. Nice.
