I spent a few hours biking around this south Columbus metropark this morning looking for winter strays, with not much success. Although the weather was clear & dry, the extended cold mornings had frozen over all of the ponds and marshes. The birdlist looked much like the list from the CBC team, so the birds haven't changed much in the past 3 weeks. Notables included:

Hooded Mergansers - 2 pair in Big Walnut Creek, which was not frozen over
Bald Eagle - a brief stop at Madison Christian school found 1 adult perched on the nest far to the north.
Woodpeckers - quite a few in the woodlots along the bikepath, but nothing unusual
Winter Wren - 1 along the Confluence Trail, a fairly reliable spot for them
Mockingbird - 1 was at the Oxbow area, while another was at a more typical spot along the south edge of the Confluence entrance.
E.Towhee - 1 at the Powerline cut crossing the Blacklick Creek trail east of the Confluence entrance
Tree Sparrows - a few scattered all along the trail, but a flock of 20+ was in the field north of Watkins Rd.
Fox Sparrow - 1 singing (or trying to) at the same powerline cut, a quite reliable location for this species in winter.
