Hi all,

Joel and Valerie Moore discovered a juvenile Golden Eagle yesterday in Knox County, along the Kokosing River about one mile east of Gambier. They saw the bird from the Kokosing Gap Trail, which parallels the north side of the river, very near Killduff Road (County Rd. 230). Killduff Road crosses the Kokosing River just south of the Kokosing Gap Trail. You should have no problem locating this locale on your DeLorme, or Google Maps, MapQuest, or whatever you use to orient.

Given the date, it would seem possible that the eagle is overwintering in the area, and it may be refindable. The Moores managed to get a photo of the bird, and I've posted that at my blog: http://jimmccormac.blogspot.com/

Congrats to the Moores for a great find, and good luck to anyone who goes eagle-seeking.

Jim
