Here on Little Cayman island we came upon a peregrine in the middle of the road munching on a cattle egret. It tried to take off with it but the egret was to heavy. It would not move. I got out of the truck and when it saw me it flew off. Got back in the truck and drove on. Looking back I saw the bird fly back in to finish lunch. On the same day on the other side of the island we ran into a Merlin who also had a catch that was too big to carry off. Deja vu.
I know this isn't Ohio but thought it was interesting behavior.
