When the snow crunches and the boardwalk cracks when you walk on it,
you know that it is cold out. Thanks to Chris Knoll for helping out
with our January bird count here at Magee.
We saw or heard the following species...............

Double-crested Cormorant, Tundra Swans, Canada Goose, Bald Eagle,
Mourning Dove, Hairy Woodpecker, Downy Woodpecker, Blue Jay, Black
Capped Chickadee, White-breasted Nuthatch, Brown Creeper, Golden-crowned
Kinglet, European Starling, N. Cardinal, Dark-eyed Junco, Song Sparrow,
American Goldfinch, American Tree Sparrow, House Sparrow.

Thanks to all who helped with the Christmas Bird Count 4 KIDS last
Saturday! The volunteer bird guides, the Friends of Magee Marsh for
providing lunch, and Back to the Wild for bringing out some birds to
show the kids! It was a great day and we will do it again for sure
next year.

Our next Bird Count for Magee Marsh is Tuesday Feb. 21. We begin at 8
am at the Bird Center. Come join us.

Happy Birding!
