Had a flock of 17 American Pipits in a field in a Cincinnati city park ("Rapid Run Park" on the westside
of town, off Sunset Road) at midday. Very skittish as they flew from end to end of the grassy ball field
as a few dog walkers ambled past.
Rapid Run Park has two resident Great Horned Owls which have been observed together recently. Also
have been dueting occasionally at night. But so far, have not in the nest bucket (provided a few years
back by Jeff Hays of Raptor, Inc.).
Had a flock of 39 Sandhill Cranes fly over the park yesterday afternoon heading in a S-SW direction
toward the Ohio River.
